Smoke Density Apparatus
Key Features:
Standard-Compliant Design:-
As perASTMD-2843-70.
Controlled Burning System:-
Operating a controlled LPG burner with a pressure regulator set to 40 PSIas per standard procedure.
Photometric Measurement System:-
Before any smoke is introduced, the chamber is filled with clean air. The absorbance meter is calibrated to a zero reading from light source. This step establishes the baseline—a reading of 0% absorbance for a clean chamber with 100% light transmission
The photosensor detects this decrease in light intensity and sends an electrical signal to the absorbance meter. The meter then calculates the percentage of light that was absorbed and displays it as a reading.
Fully Automatic Timing:-
Absorbance meter with a built-in automated timing function, which is a common feature in spectrophotometers and smoke meters.
The 4-minute timer with 15-second beeps allows you to track the progress of a reaction and see how the absorbance reading changes.
The long beep at the 4-minute mark serves as a clear, audible signal that the test is complete.
Temperature Indicator:-
The absorption meter has a built-in automated temperature Indicator that displays the temperature of the smoke chamber.
Built-in Adjustable DC Volt Meter:-
The absorption meter has a built-in adjustable DC Volt meter 5.8 as per slanderedincrease and decrease DC voltage using an “adjust button”
Typical Applications:
Plastic material testing
Wire & cable smoke analysis
Flame retardant product evaluation
